Short Stack Nash Push/Fold Charts

Short Stack Nash Push/Fold Charts

When you're short-stacked (15bb or less), push/fold becomes the dominant strategy.

Nash Equilibrium in Push/Fold

The Nash equilibrium for push/fold is a solved game. Each stack depth has mathematically optimal shoving and calling ranges.

Shoving Ranges by Position (10bb)

  • **BTN**: 55+, A2s+, KTs+, A4o+, KJo+ (~38%)
  • **SB**: 22+, A2s+, K9s+, A7o+, KTo+ (~42%)
  • **BB**: Only when action is folded to you — similar to SB
  • **Earlier positions**: Progressively tighter

  • Calling Ranges (10bb effective)

  • **Vs BTN shove**: 77+, ATs+, AJo+ (~18%)
  • **Vs CO shove**: 66+, A9s+, ATo+ (~22%)
  • **Vs MP shove**: 55+, A8s+, A9o+ (~26%)

  • ICM Adjustments

In tournaments, these ranges must be adjusted for ICM:

  • **Shove tighter**: When ICM pressure is high
  • **Call tighter**: Especially when there are shorter stacks at the table
  • **Bubble factor**: Adjust by your bubble factor (typically 1.2-1.5 on the bubble)
