Rules & Hand Rankings


Texas Hold'em is played with a standard 52-card deck. Each player receives 2 hole cards, and 5 community cards are dealt face-up on the board.


Hand Rankings (Highest to Lowest)


  • **Royal Flush** — A-K-Q-J-10 of the same suit
  • **Straight Flush** — Five consecutive cards of the same suit
  • **Four of a Kind** — Four cards of the same rank
  • **Full House** — Three of a kind + a pair
  • **Flush** — Five cards of the same suit
  • **Straight** — Five consecutive cards
  • **Three of a Kind** — Three cards of the same rank
  • **Two Pair** — Two different pairs
  • **One Pair** — Two cards of the same rank
  • **High Card** — No matching cards

  • Basic Game Flow


  • **Preflop**: Each player receives 2 hole cards. Betting begins.
  • **Flop**: 3 community cards are dealt. Second betting round.
  • **Turn**: 1 community card dealt. Third betting round.
  • **River**: Final community card dealt. Last betting round.
  • **Showdown**: Remaining players reveal their cards. Best hand wins.

  • Key Concepts


  • **Blinds**: Forced bets by SB (small blind) and BB (big blind) to create action
  • **Dealer Button**: Rotates clockwise each hand, determining position
  • **Pot**: Total chips wagered by all players in a hand
