Defensa de la ciega grande: reglas básicas versus aperturas

Short Answer

The big blind defends wider because it has already posted 1bb and receives better pot odds against opens. But BB is usually out of position postflop, so good odds do not mean every marginal hand should call.

Why BB Defends Wider

The blind is already invested. Against small opens, the required equity to call is lower, allowing many suited hands, connectors, and broadways to defend.

Defense Limits

Being out of position reduces equity realization. High-rake cash games punish marginal small-pot calls. The earlier the opener, the stronger the range, so BB defense must tighten.

Call Versus 3-Bet

BB calls contain many playable but not premium hands. 3-bets should be more defined: strong value raises, and selected blockers or playable candidates bluff at low frequency. Do not turn every suited hand into a 3-bet.

Decision Steps

  1. Read opener position and size.
  2. Estimate required equity and actual realization.
  3. Build 3-bets from value and good blockers.
  4. Tighten strongly versus early-position large opens.

Preguntas frecuentes

¿Debería BB defender lo más amplio posible?
No. Las probabilidades del pozo permiten que BB defienda más ampliamente, pero estar fuera de posición, el rake y los rangos fuertes del abridor reducen el EV de la mano marginal.
