Linear Range (Condensed)

A linear (or condensed) range includes hands from the top of your range down to a certain strength threshold, without skipping middle-strength hands. This contrasts with polarized ranges. Linear ranges are typical for small bet sizes and preflop opening ranges. When you open raise from UTG, you typically have a linear range: all hands above a certain strength threshold.

Example

A UTG opening range of {AA-77, AK-AT, KQ-KJ, QJ} is linear — it includes all hands from the top down.
